The Alexander Dawson School is pleased to announce tickets are now on sale for the 2nd annual ‘Through the Tasting Glass’ event showcasing Colorado Wines, locally sourced gourmet food and featuring Colorado Artists. The event will be held on February 21, 2014 from 6:30 pm 10:30 pm at an exclusive private residence and airplane hangar located at the Erie Airport.
Wine and food aficionados from across the state will attend and take part in the annual event benefiting Alexander Dawson School. Five unique wines, each from a different Colorado winery will be featured at the event and paired with an epicurean delight prepared by Executive Chef Ted Strauch of Greens Point Catering.
“In our second year, we are honored to be featuring some of Colorado’s most distinctive wines and helping to educate wine enthusiasts to better understand what makes Colorado wine unique and competitive”, states coChair and sponsor Barbara Somerville of Printnovation. “We want to spread the word and dispel the myths about Colorado wines”, adds coChair and sponsor Miche Bacher of mali b sweets. “Our line up this year is exceptional” says coChair and sponsor Pam Dupont of The Beauty Within, a local interior design firm. She expands by adding “the food, the wine and the art all combine for an event unlike anything Boulder County has seen”. Participating wineries include: Bookcliff Vineyards, Garfield Estates, Helluva Wine, Ten Bears Winery, and Ruby Trust Cellars.
The event begins at 6:30 pm with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres served while guests view some of Colorado’s exceptional art masterpieces and interact with the artists. Live Jazz featuring saxophonist Matt White will set the mood for this unprecedented event. Winemakers from each of the featured Wineries will be on hand to talk about their wine, processes, and experiences in the growing Colorado wine industry. Winemakers will be onsite throughout the event to chat with guests and answer questions.
When asked which wineries will be showcased and what bottles will be tasted, Somerville responded by saying “you’ll just have to purchase a ticket...we’ve procured some exclusive bottles and in some instances, the last bottles available in the state. We can assure you, you won’t be disappointed.”
